"Mental Health and Marginalized Communities" Thursday Feb. 25, 7:00 pm
This diverse panel discussed access to mental health assistance in marginalized communities (including communities of color, Native and Indigenous groups, unsheltered populations, the elderly, and persons interacting with law enforcement), with particular emphasis on identifying gaps and ways to close them. The presentation with include moderated discussion from representatives of organizations working with each of the above mentioned communities, as well as significant Q&A input from the FB Live audience. Panelists include: Dr. Dolores Subia Bigfoot (Indian Country Child Trauma Center, OU Health Sciences Center); Lt. Don Holland (Homeless Outreach Team, Oklahoma City Police Department); Miranda Kieffer (DHS - Aging Servcies); Sanaria Okongor, LPC (Board of Directors, National Alliance on Mental Illness of Oklahoma + Founder of Oklahoma Clinicians of Color); and Dan Straughan (Executive Director, The Homeless Alliance)
